Cuando tomas la decisión de construir “algo” hay varias cosas que debes considerar. A continuación, te comparto las que yo considero son las tres más importantes para tomar esta decisión.
Mi primera recomendación es: HAZ EL PROYECTO CON TIEMPO SUFICIENTE.
Cada arquitecto tiene sus propios tiempos los cuales dependen del alcance del proyecto y formas de trabajar. De acuerdo a un artículo de ArchDaily un tiempo estimado para la elaboración de un proyecto ejecutivo es de 4 a 6 meses. Y la construcción en México de una casa de 500m² oscila de 10 a 14 meses.
Hacer las cosas con tiempo da oportunidad de lograr un excelente resultado. Debes tener cuidado con los tiempos productivos y creativos, solícita y empieza teniendo tiempos claros. El tiempo que le asignes a tu proyecto, serán los alcances que se pueden esperar. Siempre da un tiempo generoso al desarrollo de un proyecto sin olvidar establecer una fecha límite para así tener metas claras en tus objetivos de vida.
Mi segundo punto es: ELIGE AL ARQUITECTO CORRECTO.
En este punto se debe ser muy asertivo, debes encontrar a alguien en quien confiar, alguien que, junto a ti, tomará las decisiones a lo largo de todo un proceso de diseño y construcción.
La elección de un arquitecto no se trata de buscar muchos precios de arquitectos, si no de definir el servicio que quieres recibir de su parte.
Para que este proceso sea más sencillo, sugerimos consideres lo siguiente al momento de tomar una decisión:

PIDE RECOMENDACIONES; Recurre a amigos y familiares que anteriormente ya trabajaran con alguno y hayan quedado satisfechos.
BUSCA EN INTERNET; y escoge alguno que te guste su trabajo y te genere confianza. Observa el trabajo que ha realizado, conoce cómo trabaja, sus procesos, capacidades y precios. Evalúa su estilo, escuela y reputación.
ELABORA UNA LISTA CON 3 O 4 CANDIDATOS.
CONTACTA A LOS CANDIDATOS.
Descríbeles la idea que tienes desde un principio para dejar las cosas claras, pregunta por su disponibilidad y plazos para realizarlo y siempre hay que estar muy atentos a las connotaciones tanto positivas como negativas que el arquitecto transmita.
Una vez que se tienen reuniones con varios arquitectos es hora de tomar una decisión informada. Cabe destacar que un gran arquitecto se distingue por ofrecer excelente servicio profesional y sobre todo un trato personal excepcional.
CUIDA TUS RELACIONES Y ASEGURA TUS INVERSIONES.
Recuerda que vas a hacer una inversión importante. Evita la confusión de que el arquitecto se encarga de todo, no siempre debe ser así. Un arquitecto se encarga del diseño y el constructor de la ejecución del proyecto. Elige a tus mejores.
El proceso de diseño y construcción requiere de tiempo, dedicación y sobre todo paciencia, es importante recordar que estamos hablando de que tanto el arquitecto como tu son personas y se quiere tratar con personas positivas, con ganas y buena disposición para así garantizar resultados increíbles y disfrutar cada paso del proceso.
Mi tercera recomendación es: IDENTIFICAR TUS NECESIDADES Y DESEOS.
Esto es más que nada trabajo del arquitecto sin embargo es importante llegar con estos puntos claros para solicitarlos, explica bien qué es lo que estás buscando, si queda muy claro desde el principio qué es lo que quieres y cuáles son las labores del arquitecto el proyecto fluirá de manera más activa y al gusto del cliente, el arquitecto se encargará de buscar que tus objetivos se logren o superen.
Para construir “algo bien” se deben cumplir diferentes etapas: proyecto (diseño), planeación (formas, tiempos y costos) y construcción (ejecución). Los arquitectos, ingenieros y más somos el medio para que se logren de manera correcta cada una de las etapas anteriores.
Es nuestra responsabilidad lograr los deseos y objetivos de cada cliente, o bien sensibilizar y ofrecer opciones en base a nuestras capacidades, conocimiento y experiencia, siempre con ética profesional y garantizando tanto un proceso como resultado final que no olvidarán.

¿HOW TO START A PROJECT?
When you make the decision to build "something" there are several things to consider. Up next, I share what I consider to be the three most important steps to follow to make this decision.
My first recommendation is: DO THE PROJECT WITH ENOUGH TIME.
Each architect has his/her own times which depend on the scope of the project and ways of working. According to an ArchDaily article, an estimated time for the development of an executive project is 4 to 6 months. And the construction of a 500m² house in Mexico ranges from 10 to 14 months.
Doing things early gives the opportunity to achieve an excellent result. You must be careful with productive and creative times, request and start with clear times being established. The time that you assign to your project will be the results scope that can be expected. Always give generous time to the development of a project without forgetting to set a deadline so that you have clear goals concerning your life objectives.
My second advice is: CHOOSE THE RIGHT ARCHITECT.
At this point you must be very assertive, you must find someone you can trust, someone who, together with you, will make the decisions throughout the design and construction process.
Choosing an architect is not about looking for a lot of architect prices, but about defining the service you want to receive from them.

ASK FOR RECOMMENDATIONS; Turn to friends and family who have previously worked with someone and have been satisfied
LOOK ONLINE; and choose candidates whose work you like and build confidence in you. Observe the work they have done, know how they work, their processes, capacities and prices. Assess their style, school, and reputation.
CREATE A LIST WITH 3 OR 4 CANDIDATES
GET IN TOUCH WITH THE CANDIDATES
Describe the idea that you have from the beginning to make things clear, ask about their availability and deadlines to carry out the project. Also, you have to be very attentive to both the positive and negative connotations that the architect transmits.
Once you have meetings with several architects, it is time to make an informed decision. It should be noted that a great architect is distinguished by offering excellent professional service and, above all, exceptional personal treatment.
TAKE CARE OF YOUR RELATIONSHIPS AND INSURE YOUR INVESTMENT.
Remember that you are going to make a significant investment. Avoid the confusion that the architect takes care of everything, it doesn't always have to be this way. An architect is in charge of the design and the constructor of the project execution. Choose your best.
The design and construction process requires time, dedication and above all patience, it is important to remember that we are talking about the fact that both you and the architect are people and you want to deal with positive people, with desire and a good disposition to guarantee incredible results and enjoy every step of the process.
My third recommendation is: IDENTIFY YOUR NEEDS AND WISHES.
This is more than anything the architect's job, however it is important to arrive with clear ideas to request them, explain well what you are looking for, if it is very clear from the beginning what you want and what the architect's tasks are the project will flow more actively and according to the client’s needs and wishes, the architect will be in charge of finding that your objectives are either achieved or exceeded.
To build "something well" different stages must be met: project (design), planning (forms, times and costs) and construction (execution). The architects, engineers and more are the means to achieve each of the previous stages correctly.
It is our responsibility to achieve both the wishes and objectives of each client, or to sensitize and offer options based on our skills, knowledge and experience, always with professional ethics and guaranteeing both a process and a final result that they won’t forget.
